Bad Hare Day mulliganed a one-land opener and kept a stable seven containing four lands, Boros Signet, Hare Apparent, and Wear // Tear. The Signet came down on Turn 2, followed by two Hare Apparents on Turn 3. When Coretapper attacked, ChatGPT blocked with a Hare, killing Coretapper while preserving the blocker; Morbid Opportunist drew Shirei a card from the death.

Shirei’s opening lands—Reliquary Tower, Cabal Pit, and Miren, the Moaning Well—left the deck short on reliable black mana. Gavvin used Expedition Map to find Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth, but that consumed Turn 4 and delayed further development. Shirei established Morbid Opportunist and later Pawn of Ulamog, but never cast Shirei, Shizo’s Caretaker or assembled a sacrifice engine.

Bad Hare Day added a third Hare and Zinnia, Valley’s Voice on Turn 4. On Turn 5, ChatGPT sacrificed Fabled Passage for an untapped Plains, then cast another Hare Apparent with Zinnia’s offspring cost. The original and offspring Hare triggers produced seven Rabbit tokens, giving Zinnia a large temporary power increase. The resulting attack left Shirei at 16 life despite Morbid Opportunist blocking a Hare. With the expanded Rabbit board still intact and no answer presented, lethal combat on Turn 6 was effectively established.

Game Context

Shirei was materially mana-constrained rather than simply inactive. Its first three lands provided useful effects but poor early black development, while Cabal Pit also imposed a life cost when used for mana. Urborg repaired the color problem only after Expedition Map consumed Turn 4.

Bad Hare Day’s draw was not explosive at the outset; it became explosive once repeated Hare Apparent triggers combined with Zinnia’s offspring ability. No removal, sacrifice effect, or stax piece disrupted that token engine. Wear // Tear remained unused.

The game included several bookkeeping corrections: an incorrect Turn 2 land play was rewound after the kept hand was reconstructed from the screenshot, Fabled Passage’s untapped-land condition was checked, and Turn 5 combat totals were corrected before resolution. None changed the final board state or outcome.
